Chaizika Gadson couldn't keep her Camaro in the roadway, drawing the suspicions of members of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, who didn't make it easy on them during a subsequent traffic stop.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Monday morning, a deputy on patrol on Warrenton Road began tailing Gadson, which continued to drift off the roadway before she overcorrected and wound up  veering into a divider in the left lane and drifting back to the right shoulder, resulting in a traffic stop near the intersection of Heartsfield Lane.

Inside the Camaro, deputies found Gadson - who stated she only had "half a shot" - who was driving two children; however, "due to the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath, it was easy to determined that it was more than that," a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said.

While speaking with the 29-year-old, investigators say that signs of her being impaired only compounded, to the point "it was difficult for her to form coherent sentences."

Gadson was arrested and charged with:

  • Driving under the influence;
  • Refusal;
  • Obstruction of justice;
  • Two counts of felony child neglect.

She was also cited for the traffic lane violation.

Gadson is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond and the children were turned over to a sober family member.
